What's new in PaulStretch 2.2-2:
- buffer error on render
How the human brain works is interesting in a large variety of ways, for example the way our eyes capture light in order to see and the way it processes sounds in order to hear.
Sometimes though, one might want to have a more insightful view of things by slowing down the whole process and gaining a deeper feel and a more complex understanding of what really feeds our senses.
Simple and streamlined software solution for sound stretching
Long ago, in the early 20th century, an Austrian priest in the film-making industry invented the slow motion effect. Extrapolating the same idea in music and fast-forwarding to our times, sound stretching is made possible by using specialized audio software.
PaulStretch is a simple and straightforward application that makes it easy for you to perform extreme sound stretching of audio files.
Moreover, getting to grips with the application is quite easy, and, despite the fact that it doesn't feature a typical macOS interface, all its controls were intuitively organized and within easy reach all the time we used it.
Stretch your sounds using one of the three inbuilt algorithms and a wide variety of audio fine-tuning tools
Furthermore, the PaulStretch app is designed in such a way that it produces high quality sound stretching by changing the duration of the audio file, without distorting the sound in an unpleasant and unnatural manner.
It's definitely worth mentioning that PaulStretch comes with support for some of the most popular audio file types, namely WAV, OGG, VORBIS, and MP3 files.
Furthermore, PaulStretch helps you process sounds with the help of three audio transformation modes: a 'Stretch' mode that stretches the sound up to 10.000 times, a 'HyperStretch' mode that offers an extreme stretch of up to 1.000.000.000.000.000.000 times, as well as a 'Shorten' mode that actually reduces the length of the sound.
Hear sounds and music from a totally different perspective and enjoy the calmness of stretched audio
Last but not least, in order to achieve the best results, PaulStretch offers you many post-processing effects like filters, pitch and frequency shifter, an octave mixer, a spread tools, a tonal-noise filter, and many more useful tools for transforming any audio track into something sublime and spectacular.

All in all, PaulStretch is a simple to use and trustworthy sound stretcher that provides you with the unique opportunity of hearing audio tracks in a way that our brains are not used to.

stretchly is a small utility that resides in the status bar and periodically displays alerts letting you know that is time to stretch, rest your eyes, check your posture, and so on.
The message displayed by stretchly is different each time, and you get an audio alert when you need to go back to work.
Break reminder app that is very easy to configure
Upon launch, stretchly places a small menulet in your status bar that delivers quick access to the app's Settings and offers you the option to activate or deactivate the service.
If active, based on the default stretchly settings, you will get notifications for 20-second brakes every 10 minutes. However, you can modify both the break interval and the alerts frequency (going from 5 to 30 seconds or minutes respectively).
Within the stretchly Settings panel you also get to change the audio alert sound: at the end of each microbreak, the chime lets you know it's time to get back to work. Furthermore, you get to change the background color for the break notification panel.
Take frequent breaks to improve your focus and stay healthy
Bottom line, stretchly proposes an alternative solution for making sure that you don't remain in front of the computer for hours on end without taking at least very short breaks.
The stretchly alerts give you ideas on what you could do during the pause that could improve your posture, keep you hydrated, help you relax the neck or eyes muscles, and so on. Of course, if you don't have time for a break, you get to skip it with a mouse click.
Keep in mind that stretchly takes a rather minimalist approach to the matter, so you cannot use the intervals recommended by the Pomodoro technique, the screen in not covered completely, you cannot employ custom sounds or background designs, and so on.
